The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Wednesday conducted searches at nine locations across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a 1990 double-murder case registered in Anantnag district.

The searches were carried out in connection with FIR No. 45/1990, registered at Police Station Dooru, pertaining to the killing of two persons in the Dooru area in 1990. The case is presently under investigation by the SIA.

Officials said the searches were conducted at the premises of suspects and at other locations believed to be connected with the case. The operation was aimed at gathering documents, evidence and other material that could assist investigators in identifying and tracing the accused and establishing the sequence of events surrounding the killings.

The SIA Kashmir, which has been pursuing investigations into several long-pending militancy-related cases dating back to the 1990s, has intensified efforts to revisit such cases and bring them to a logical conclusion.

Officials said the latest searches form part of the agency’s ongoing investigation into the decades-old case.

Further details regarding any recoveries or developments during the searches are awaited.
