Honourable Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shri Kavinder Gupta Ji to Be the Chief Guest


Jammu & Kashmir: A grand closing ceremony of Sanskrit Month, dedicated to Sanskrit language, Indian culture, Vedic traditions, the art and culture of Jammu, and the rich Dogra heritage, will be held on Sunday, August 23, at 4:00 PM at Majestic Grand, Mishriwala, Jammu North Assembly Constituency. The event is being organized by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Institute Trust, Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference in this regard, Trust Chairman and State Awardee Mahant Rohit Shastri said that various activities were organized throughout Sanskrit Month to promote and preserve the Sanskrit language, Indian culture, Vedic knowledge, spiritual traditions, and the distinctive Dogra cultural heritage of Jammu. The closing ceremony is being organized in a grand and attractive manner.
The ceremony will be presided over by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, while Himachal Pradesh Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta Ji will be the Chief Guest. Saints, scholars, eminent personalities from the social and cultural fields, public representatives, Sanskrit enthusiasts, and citizens from various sections of society are expected to attend the समारोह.
Mahant Rohit Shastri said that the objective of the समारोह is not merely to promote the Sanskrit language, but also to connect the younger generation with India's knowledge traditions, values, spiritual heritage, and cultural roots through Sanskrit. Giving special importance to the Dogra culture and heritage of Jammu, local art, traditions, and cuisine will also be prominently showcased during the event.
Several public-oriented and cultural activities will be organized during the grand closing ceremony, including:
Free Medical Camp: Health services will be provided to the public through a free medical camp.
Plant Distribution Drive: Saplings will be distributed to promote environmental conservation and a greener future.
Special Exhibition on Jammu's Art and Culture: The exhibition will showcase Dogra art, traditions, and the region's rich cultural heritage.
Vedic Recitations and Spiritual Programmes: Vedic traditions and the spiritual significance of Sanskrit will be presented to the general public.
Free Dogra Food Court: Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the traditional cuisine and culinary heritage of Jammu through a free Dogra food court.
Mahant Rohit Shastri said that Sanskrit is not merely an ancient language but also an important foundation of India's knowledge, philosophy, science, spirituality, and culture. He emphasized that preserving and promoting Sanskrit, along with taking Indian culture and Vedic traditions to the younger generation, is the need of the hour.
He further said that the identity of Jammu & Kashmir is not limited to its natural beauty. Its ancient spiritual traditions, Sanskrit literature, temple culture, folk arts, and rich Dogra heritage are equally important elements of its distinctive identity. Through Sanskrit Month, an effort has been made to bring all these aspects together on a common platform.
He also highlighted environmental conservation as an important component of the समारोह. The distribution of saplings will convey a message of responsibility towards nature, while the free medical camp will promote the spirit of social service and public welfare.
Mahant Rohit Shastri appealed to devotees, Sanskrit enthusiasts, scholars, youth, women, social organizations, culture lovers, and residents of the area to attend the समारोह in large numbers, grace the occasion, and become part of the campaign for the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit language, Indian culture, and Dogra heritage.
He said that the आयोजन is an important effort to reconnect society with its roots, strengthen cultural awareness, and pass India's rich knowledge and traditions on to future generations.
